Description of Blind Spot
FBI agent Declan Grey is in the chase of his life–but isn’t sure exactly what he’s chasing after. Threatened by a terrorist that “the wrath is coming,” Grey fears something horrible is about to be unleashed on American soil. When his investigation leads him to a closed immigrant community, he turns to Tanner Shaw to help him. She’s sought justice for refugees and the hurting around the world, and if there’s anyone who can help him, it’s Tanner.
Tanner Shaw has joined the FBI as a crisis counselor . . . meaning she now has more opportunity to butt heads with Declan. But that tension also includes a spark she can’t deny, and she’s pretty sure Declan feels the same. But before anything can develop between them, they discover evidence of a terror cell–and soon are in a race against the clock to stop the coming “wrath” that could cost thousands their lives.
My review of Blind Spot
I have never read any books by Dani Pettrey. I kept seeing this book advertised on Facebook and thought it sounded interesting. I put it in my want to read list on Goodreads so I wouldn’t forget about it and went on my merry way.
I am a reviewer for Bethany House and receive a monthly list of three books available for review, Blind Spot was on the list. So of course I requested a copy. It has been sitting on my end table (busy time of year) Yesterday, I picked up the book and began to read. The beginning has a lot of information, necessary but still a lot. I wasn’t sure if I should keep reading or pick a lighter cozier read. I kept reading and I am so glad I did. I could not put the book down. I read until one o’clock this morning! (Tell me you’ve never done this)
This book has two different cases that the detectives are working. The big case is trying to find out what terrorists are plotting to do on American soil and where they are going to do it. This plot line has so many twists and turns that are unexpected. (makes it really interesting) Declan and Tanner get to work this case together and the chemistry between the two is combustible.
The other case involves embezzlement and murder. A former coach, who is a friend to the men in the group, suspects his partner is embezzling funds from his firms clients and asks the team to investigate. This investigation did not end up the way I originally thought it would play out. It was fantastic to see how Dani Pettrey planted the seeds of deception and pulled the reader in the direction she wanted them to follow.
Pettrey is a wonderful story teller. I loved this book. If you like a good romantic suspense I suggest this book. It is a good clean read too. (Added bonus!)
As always, if you pick up a copy of this book I’d love to hear your thoughts about it.
