Fried Cabbage

It’s a southern thing, ya’ll. Chances are if you live in the south you have tasted this wonderful concoction before. I haven’t made this in a long time. My husband requested I make it when he saw a head of cabbage in the refrigerator. Now I’m not going to lie to you and tell you this is a healthy dish, but it is low carb and it tastes delicious! It is also super easy to make.


1 small head cabbage
8 slices bacon
1 cup diced onion


Cut the bacon into 1 inch pieces and fry until crisp
leave bacon in the pan and add the diced onion
cook until the onion is transparent. While the onion is cooking core and slice the cabbage up like you would for coleslaw. Add to the bacon and onion in the pan. Give it all a good toss then put a lid on it. Turn the heat to low and let it steam for 20 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste and be prepared to be amazed.
