Description of the book
Busy Texas farmer Quinn Tucker is used to raising crops, not children. So when four nieces and nephews are left in his care, it’s not long before he realizes they need a mother. But his search for a wife leads to the least likely woman for illiterate Quinn—schoolmarm Helen McKenna.
City girl Helen has been told she’ll never have children—and, it seems, a husband. So she jumps at the chance to be a mother to Quinn’s little family. Though he is far from her image of an ideal husband, maybe a marriage in name will blossom into something more…
My review of The Texasn’s Inheirited Family
A friend gave me this book to read and I am so glad she did. The Texan’s Inherited Family by Noelle Marchand is set in a fictitious town, Peppin, Texas, in 1888. A fictitious town is something I had never even thought of. It would sure solve quite a few problems in my current work in progress.
The story is about a young, single farmer, Quinn. Quinn has recently become the sole caretaker for his four nieces and nephews. He is in way over his head. He knows he needs help on a permanent basis. He thinks a wife would be the perfect solution. Who better to ask than the beautiful, single schoolmarm, Helen.
Helen has a problem of her own. She had a horse riding accident when she was younger and is unable to have children. She was engaged to be married and when she told her fiancé that she couldn’t have children he broke their engagement. Helen has always wanted to get married and have a family, but she feels that she is too damaged. No one will want to marry a woman that can’t give him children. She jumps at the opportunity to marry Quinn. She thinks his ready made family makes him the perfect man for her.
They get married but that does not solve their problems. Watching these two muddle their way through from one problem to the next is heart warming.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I hope you will too.
About the author
Noelle Marchand’s love of literature began as a child when she would spend hours reading beneath the covers long after she was supposed to be asleep. Over the years, God began prompting her to write. Eventually, those stories became like “fire shut up in her bones” leading her to complete her first novel at fifteen. As an adult, that fire of inspiration continues to burn.
Noelle is a Houston-native who graduated from Houston Baptist University. She received bachelors degree in Mass Communication with a focus in journalism and Speech Communication.
